Jubilee Congress in Vienna 2022
From 17 to 20 November 2022, the jubilee congress ‘100 Years of Pan-Europe’ took place in Vienna, organised by the Austrian Pan-European Movement in co-operation with the International Pan-European Union.
The Congress ended on the 110th birthday of Otto von Habsburg with a visit to his grave at the Capuchin Crypt and a reception in Vienna City Hall.
Over 300 participants from all over Europe attended the Congress.
A film about 100 years of Paneurope was displayed.
With a proud look at the history of the organisation, the anniversary congress opened the door to the future of the Pan-European idea and European unification. After a review of the history of the Pan-European Union, the focus was placed on discussing important topics for the further shaping of European unification: European foreign policy, European security policy, European economic policy, internal market, admission of new countries to the EU, identity and soul of Europe.
In addition to two festive events on Thursday 17 November and Friday 18 November 2022 - including the presentation of the Coudenhove-Kalergi European Prize - the congress at the Haus der Industrie discussed the future of Europe in six substantive panels on Friday and Saturday.
